The inspiration for my work comes from my personal upbringing.
I was born in a heavy industrial city in Hebei, where winters are not only cold but also often grey and dust-filled. Since the age of 14, I’ve spent every winter in Hainan—a place where the sunlight, fresh air, and sound of the sea bring me a sense of calm and relaxation. This eight-year-long “migratory” lifestyle made me realize that my environmental preferences are deeply rooted in embodied memory and lived experience.
This installation grows out of that migratory experience. It aims to abstractly express the sense of order and freedom that can coexist within states of drifting and displacement.

The red dot lights on the LED strip create a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow in the space, synchronized with the sound—like the "breathing" of migrating birds. This rhythm reflects my inner state of seeking order and freedom amidst constant movement and wandering.
